In your eyes

Seabirds fly, stark white
Across a cringing sky

Rain patters on rough sidewalks
Outlining creases with running water

Thunder rolls, rainfalls, lightning cracks
The birds fly silhouetted against a gray and black

Their calls echo in a valley, a tribute
To sorrow and loneliness weaving with the rain.

The call goes shrill, mournful
As the gulls wait for morning

They call why? Why? At the
Bitter sky that makes it echo back

The daylight comes, the storm moves on
Leaving the birds screaming in agony

That is what I see in your eyes.
